f you’ve been using your first vaping device for more than a year or so, there’s a good chance that you’ve begun to think a bit about upgrading – and there has never been a better time to purchase a new pod system than right now. In 2020, all of the manufacturers in the vaping industry focused significant amounts of their research and development capital toward the creation of high-end “pod mods” that offered significantly more performance than beginner-oriented pod systems while retaining the ease of use and disposable components that owners of pod systems loved.
The SMOK SCAR P3 is one of the latest members of the new generation of pod mods, and the designers at SMOK have truly pulled out all the stops while coming up with this device. The SMOK SCAR P3 has virtually every feature that you could ever want a vaping device to have, but it’s simple enough to use that you should have no trouble with it even if you’re fairly new to vaping.
While you wait for your new pod mod to arrive, we hope that you’ll enjoy our SMOK SCAR P3 instruction manual – and if you haven’t ordered this device yet, why are you still waiting? You can order the SMOK SCAR P3 right here for just £31.99.
If you’re currently using a pod system with fully disposable pods, you’ve never had to think much about atomizer coils before. You’re accustomed to using a pod until the flavour changes and throwing the entire pod away when you’re done with it. The SMOK SCAR P3 is a little different. Although the pod is still a replaceable component, it’s something that you only replace when the pod has been used to much that it’s started to become a bit dingy. Most of the time, you’ll simply replace the pod’s atomizer coil while continuing to use the pod.
Having a pod system with a replaceable coil is a great way to save money on vaping because coils cost significantly less than pods. In addition, having a vaping device with a replaceable atomizer coil also means that you can switch to a different coil when you’re in the mood for a different type of vaping experience. The SMOK SCAR P3 works with SMOK RPM coils. These are the coils that SMOK recommends using with the SCAR P3.
Nothing can fully replace the printed manual when you’ve just purchased a new and unfamiliar vaping device. At the same time, though, buying a new vaping device is a fairly major event. You don’t want to spend your time reading – you want to start using your device right away. That’s where our SMOK SCAR P3 manual will help. We’ll get you up and running quickly by walking you through the four key steps of getting the SMOK SCAR P3 ready to go.
The feature that makes the SMOK SCAR P3 unique as compared to the SMOK SCAR P5 is the fact that the SCAR P3 has a built-in 2,000 mAh battery. The SMOK SCAR P5 uses a removable 18650 battery. Otherwise, the two devices are the same. The battery of the SCAR P3 is sufficient to give the device an operational power range of 80 watts, and to charge it, you’ll simply connect the device to your computer using the USB-C cable included in the package. While the SCAR P3 charges, the screen displays the battery’s current status and tells you approximately how long it’ll be until the battery is fully charged.
The filling port for the SMOK SCAR P3 is on the top of the pod, which is convenient because it means that you can fill the pod without removing it from the device. To open the pod, use your fingernail to open the silicone cover for the filling port. Add e-liquid until the level of liquid in the pod is near the top and replace the silicone cover. If you’re filling the pod for the first time or have just replaced the atomizer coil, wait a few minutes before you begin vaping.
When you start to detect a “burned” or “off” flavour when vaping, it’s a sign that built-up e-liquid has been to collect on the atomizer coil of your SMOK SCAR P3, reducing the coil’s performance. When the flavour has changed so much that you’re no longer happy with your vaping experience, it’s time for a new coil. When the pod is empty, pull it out of the device and turn it upside down. Pull the atomizer coil – that’s the round metal component – out of the bottom of the pod and throw it away. Take a new coil and put a little e-liquid on each of the white openings on the side of the coil. Push the coil into the bottom of the pod and reinstall the pod. Refill the pod and wait a few minutes before vaping.
After you charge the SMOK SCAR P3 and fill the pod, you’re ready to begin vaping. Press the fire button five times quickly to turn the device on and wait a moment for the boot sequence to finish. When you’re using a new coil for the first time, use the “-“ button to lower the device’s power to 25 watts. If you’re using the RPM 2 mesh coil – which can operate at up to 50 watts – you can increase the wattage gradually while breaking in the coil until you achieve the vapour warmth and intensity you want. To vape, hold the fire button while inhaling from the SMOK SCAR P3’s mouthpiece. To lock the adjustment buttons and prevent accidental wattage changes, press the “+” and “-“ buttons simultaneously.
One of our favourite things about the SMOK SCAR P3 is its reliability. The designers at SMOK have been in the industry for more than a decade, and SMOK’s products are as reliable as they are fashionable. You’re bound to experience a problem with any vaping device if you use it long enough, though, and we’re going to give you some tips that can help when that happens. Use these steps to resolve the problems that you’re most likely to experience with the SMOK SCAR P3.
The SMOK SCAR P3 charges with a current of 5 volts, 1.1 amps – and that means it isn’t likely to charge correctly if you connect it to a “fast charger” for a mobile phone or tablet. If you’re trying to use a mains adapter to charge the SMOK SCAR P3 – and it isn’t working – try connecting it to your computer instead. If the device still doesn’t charge, try a different USB-C cable.
If your SMOK SCAR P3 isn’t vaping, the first thing that you should do is make sure that you haven’t inadvertently left the device turned off. Press the fire button five times quickly to turn the SCAR P3 on. If the screen doesn’t respond when you press the fire button, the battery is probably dead; charge the device fully before trying to vape again.
If the device is charged and responsive – but it isn’t vaping when you press the fire button – the next thing that you should do is troubleshoot the pod and atomizer coil. It’s likely that the coil has a manufacturing problem or isn’t making a good electrical connection with the device.
The SMOK SCAR P3 has two fixed air intake vents near the top of the device. The vents are designed to allow a large volume of air through the device, but it’s still possible to overwhelm the vents if you inhale very firmly when vaping. If that happens, excess e-liquid will seep from the pod’s reservoir to the interior of the atomizer coil, causing a gurgling sound. To prevent that from happening, you should use gentle air pressure when vaping with the SMOK SCAR P3. If you’re unhappy with the device’s vapour production, don’t puff more firmly. Instead, switch from the RPM coil to the RPM 2 coil and consider vaping at a higher wattage setting.
