CDC Anti Smoking Campaign
Smoking can be alluring and seductive and lets not forget that its 'cool'. But the thing is If there ever was a product that didn't deserve the term cool it would be cigarettes. The latest anti smoking campaign sees some truly heart wrenching videos of former smokers who are dealing with some serious health problems that were all spawned from their addiction.
Over 100,000 Additional Calls To The CDC Quit Line
The CDC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's , who created the ads for the campaign have ran some of the videos previously earlier on in the year which generated over 100,000 additional calls to the CDC quit line. Not only that but they saw an influx of 650,000 unique visitors to their website over the nine weeks the ads ran.
Individual Accounts From Former Smokers
In one video we are introduced to a man named Bill who lost his sight in one eye and had to have one of his legs amputated due to complications from using cigarettes. Then there is Marie and Brandon who have Buerger's disease from smoking.
Below you can find the videos from the CDC campaign. In total there are 53 videos all with one clear message - Quit smoking now before it is too late and you cause irreparable damage to yourself or someone else.
