Eliquid Packaging Comes Under Question

In America there has been a massive surge in the electronic cigarette market which has lead to an increase in the amount of calls to poison control centres regarding children being poisoned by eliquid.

Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act of 2015

Senator Bill Nelson has introduced a bill called the 'Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act of 2015' which would require that eliquid packaging be child resistant. Currently eliquid bottles can come in bright colourful bottles that are labelled with all sorts flavours that would be very appealing to children such as Bubble Gum, Cola, Chocolate, Cotton Candy, Pear Drops etc etc. The issue here isn't that the bottles come in these bright packages or that the flavours could be appealing to children, after all adults have taste buds too and enjoy sweet flavours, but the fact that they are too easily opened by children. The new bill would mean that all future bottles have some kind of child safety feature like a child-proof lid.

Features like can only be good and would be welcomed here in the UK - if it only saved one child's life the move would be worth it.
